Fishcakes, Mash and Frozen Veg

This recipe is something a little different as it's not home-made but it demonstrates how good pre-made frozen items are and just simply how convenient it is.

Sometimes, meals cannot be cooked from scratch. Some items are made so that they don't take long to cook. The oven is a huge part of the kitchen, but the microwave can prove just as valuable.

Fishcakes, Mash and Frozen Veg

Step 1

Pre-heat your oven to the necessary temperature needed to cook the fishcakes. Place them on an oven tray and leave in the oven for the time allowed (roughly around 18 to 24 minutes).

Step 2

When the fishcakes are nearly done, with a minute or two remaining, place your bag of frozen vegetables into the microwave.

Once cooked, leave the bag to stand and then place the mash into the microwave instead.

Step 3

Pierce the film and place the mash into the microwave for the intended time. Once everything has been cooked, serve on clean plates and be sure to take care when taking items out of the microwave/oven as they will be hot.
