Traditionally baked in the oven, this world-wide staple is loved in nearly every country. In the US, it can be found on pizzas while here in the UK, Brits are fond of the cheesy pasta dish being packed into pies. This recipe however uses another thing Brits love - the slow cooker.
This recipe only uses the basic ingredients but for next time, try adding bacon lardons, breadcrumbs or even cirspy onions on top to give it that crunch.
Slow Cooker Mac 'n' Cheese
Step 1
Pour boiling water over your pasta, leave for a few minutes then drain. In the meantime, Add the butter, cheese, soft cheese and milk to the slow cooker then add the pasta.
Step 2
Season, cover and leave the slow cooker on high for an hour. Once an hour has passed, stir and then leave for a further half an hour.
Step 3
Once the sauce has coated the pasta, leave the lid off of the slow cooker for a further 10 mins if it needs reducing. If not, plate up and serve. For our version, you can even add more cheese and a touch of crispy onions for that crunch.
