What tactics do students use when they go food shopping?

Going food shopping is no easy-feat but there are ways to make your journey up and down the aisles more effective. More surprisingly, this all starts before you leave home and requires some organisation and planning.

To make your shopping trip easier, quicker and more effective, there are a number of ways in which the shopper can plan ahead. Planning ahead for anyone is difficult, whether you've got a family to feed or you're a student juggling University work and a part-time job.

Luckily, if you're currently a University student, Learning Bread has sought the help of students who face the same problems when going food shopping.

21 year old student Beth Wilson, currently studying English with History and Secondary Education, has a concrete plan when she goes food shopping. Her method of writing a shopping list is the most common and most effective way to shop.

Similarly, Theology student Cameron Preece also tends to shop with a list but has an open-mind when the 20 year old goes food shopping. Keeping an eye out potential dinners, Cameron makes his way up and down the aisles - scanning thousands of items.

Meanwhile, Food Nutrition and Education student Jennifer Purdie combines a number of methods when she goes food shopping but mainly tries to stick to a budget. She also uses a list but due to a certain aisle in some supermarkets, she sometimes strays from that list.

Each person has their own tactic and not all tactics work for everyone.
